The Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, including the employment of competent personnel, equipment, safety, laboratory policies, quality assurance, all testing (including proficiency testing) and test reports.

System Director Lab Services Details
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for strategic and operational leadership for Laboratory Services.
Provides oversight of the development of business, financial, personnel, and marketing plans fostering growth, exceeding patient, and provider expectations.
Possesses overall managerial responsibility for all aspects of Laboratory services, accountable for operational performance, quality, financial performance, and competitive market position.
Works closely with Medical Directors to collaborate on advancing clinical outcomes and efficiency.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and accrediting standards.
Represents Laboratory Services within the Health System and communities served.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Technology or related field
Masters degree preferred, or willing to obtain within four (4 years)
Five years’ experience in middle or higher-level management.
Business plan preparation, capable of conducting return on investment (ROI) analysis.
Strong physician relations exemplified by follow-up, meeting attendance and effective negotiating skills.
Fiscal acumen demonstrated by development of annual budgets reflecting capital acquisition planning, staffing and operational expenses.
