Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the JAG Assistant Program Manager position.
This is a full-time, professional staff position located at the WDS Region 7 WorkOne Office in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The JAG Assistant Program Manager will assist the JAG Program Manager with day-to-day operations of the JAG program.
Employee supervises, monitors, and evaluates JAG Specialists related to program eligibility, program regulations, and JAG services.
Coordinates program eligibility and determination and enrollment of students to ensure grant compliance with program operations under State JAG, WIOA, and other grant funding.
Monitors enrollment processes and assists with any required reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures program compliance with State JAG Expansion program standards, grant compliance rules, and regulations for all funding streams.
Assists Program Manager with integrity and maintenance of required data collection systems and completion of all reports in a timely manner.
Assists Program Manager and JAG Specialists in determining enrollment and eligibility to ensure funding compliance.
Ensures positive perceptions of the JAG-Indiana within schools by developing and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with school personnel including administrators, counselors, teachers, and students.
Advocates for the program and develops a pool of effective community support resources by working with local WorkOne offices, employers, parents, civic groups and legislators to build awareness of and support for the program; develops job opportunities, participates in public relation activities, attends meetings and speaks to various community groups.

Creates training opportunities through hands-on activities, file presentation, guest speakers, and workshops; assist with civic and social opportunities throughout the whole year.
Develops and implements staff trainings for new and existing JAG Specialists.
Maintains a working knowledge of WIOA, JAG, and other grant funding requirements.
Working knowledge of basic computer applications and an Internet browser.
Ensure confidentiality of client-staff relationship.
Attends and positively participates at all staff meetings, improvement processes, and professional development trainings put on by Service Provider, Local Workforce Board, JAG Indiana, or JAG National staff.
Perform related assignments as deemed necessary by the JAG Program Manager.
Monitor and document customer progress in Indiana Career Connect and State JAG system to ensure a data entry error rate of 5% or less.
Ensures Specialists deliver at least the 37 JAG Core Competencies within the program year.
Be familiar with philosophy, goals, policies, procedures and regulations, and mission statement of the Regional Operator and Federal and State Governments and how they relate to and impact their job responsibilities.
Coordinate customer services including, but not exclusive to, assessments, training, workshops, career counseling, referrals and supportive services.
Educate the community regarding WorkOne services available in the community.
To work collectively as a team to assist the customer in meeting their training and skills improvement needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree desired, Associate’s Degree or eight years experience in the area of employment and training programs, employer relations, social work, economic development or related field.
Individual must be detailed orientated and able to compile reports.
Position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by both public transportation as well as private transportation including self-transportation.
