Accounting Clerk

The Tribune Star, the local newspaper serving Terre Haute, Vigo County and the Wabash Valley is looking for an office professional to perform and assist with daily clerical and accounting responsibilities at our office in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for general day-to-day business office functions such as invoicing, bank deposit preparation, posting of customer payments and adjustments, communication with customers on account inquiries and preparation of reports and other information for local management and/or the regional controller.
This position is an integral part of the daily business office operation of the Tribune Star.
This position will also perform other general accounting tasks such as accounts payable preparation/entry and preparation of other business office documentation as needed.
Some account collection work may also be required.
Qualified candidates will have solid general office skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks on deadlines.
The ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written form is a critical component of this position.
Candidates should also be proficient in general office applications such as Excel and Word, and be able to learn specialized, industry-unique business systems.
